How to Use a Yes or No Wheel

YesOrNo· Updated October 3, 2026

A wheel is useful when you have already decided that every listed outcome is acceptable. Start with a small choice, such as whether to try a new recipe, rather than asking it to judge facts or predict an event.

Set up your first spin

  1. Open the Yes or No Wheel.
  2. Keep one Yes and one No in the options box.
  3. Optionally enter your question to display above the wheel.
  4. Select Spin and wait for the result.
  5. Notice whether you are happy with the answer before choosing your next step.

Use a list when a binary answer is not enough

For “What should I do this evening?”, replace Yes and No with a short list: read a book, take a walk, or watch a movie. Enter one option per line. The custom wheel also has sample name, prize, and task lists.

Understand repeated entries

Each line receives one equal-sized slice. One Yes and one No give each answer half the wheel. Two Yes entries and one No give Yes two of the three slices. Remove unintended duplicates before spinning. A new spin can repeat the previous answer; randomness does not require alternating results.

Draw names without selecting someone twice

The wheel keeps your entries after a spin. If a name should only be chosen once, delete that entry before the next draw. For batches of numbers without repeats, use the random number generator instead.

Read the result as a prompt

A result can end a small tie or reveal which answer you hoped to see. It does not evaluate your priorities. If you dislike the result, consider why and choose deliberately. For an answer without the spinning delay, try the instant generator.
