How to get a random yes or no answer

Start with Yes and No for a simple decision, or add your own choices to the wheel.

Choose an everyday question such as “Should I order pizza?” You can type it into the optional question field to display it above the wheel.

2

Check the wheel options

Keep the default Yes and No answers, or enter your own choices in the options box, one per line. Each entry gets one equal-sized slice.

3

Spin the decision wheel

Click SPIN in the center of the wheel or use the Spin button below the options. Wait for the wheel to stop.

4

Read your random answer

The result appears when the spin finishes. Use it to settle a small choice or notice how you feel about the answer.

Yes or no generator: frequently asked questions

What is a yes or no generator?

A yes or no generator randomly selects one of two answers to help with a simple choice. This one uses a decision wheel: start with Yes and No, spin, and read the result when it stops.

How do I get a yes or no answer?

Leave one Yes and one No in the options box, then click SPIN. You can enter a question if you want it displayed above the wheel. The result appears after the spin finishes.

Do Yes and No have the same chance?

With one Yes and one No, each answer occupies half of the wheel. Each entry gets an equal-sized slice, so repeating an answer gives it more slices. A random result does not have to alternate between Yes and No.

Does typing a question change the answer?

The question field displays your question above the wheel. The result is selected randomly from the options you enter; the wording of your question does not change the selection.

Can I add Maybe or my own options?

Yes. Add Maybe, names, places, or other choices in the options box, one per line. The wheel updates as you edit it. Use Reset to return to the default Yes and No answers.

Is the yes or no wheel free to use on my phone?

Yes. The wheel is free to use in a modern browser on your phone, tablet, or computer. You do not need an account, an app, or a download.

Are my questions and options saved?

The wheel keeps your question and option text in the current browser page. It does not save those inputs to your account or send the text with interaction analytics. Refreshing or closing the page clears your edits.

When should I use a random yes or no answer?

Use it for small everyday choices, games, or creative prompts when every option is acceptable. For an important decision, use the result as a prompt to think about your preferences and consider the information you need before choosing.
